Art and life are like the wind,
you neither know where it ends nor where it starts
I paint since 1954. After my education at the academies of Maastricht and Cologne, I traveled to Greece, Portugal and Spain
for studies.
Themes that play a central role in my work are mainly of a philosophical and/or mythological nature. Contemplations on space
and time are at the centre of what I do. I paint mainly lineair destructive-cubistic abstractions. Furthermore I use styles that
lean towards impresionism. My work consists of water-colours, pen drawings and mixed techniques.
With lines and shapes, with or without colours, I try to create tensions that coincide and harmonize with my inner images and
thoughts.
I also write prose.
